New York New York

I recently went to New York with Old Vic New Voices TS Eliot UK/US Exchange. It was great. Lots of people are saying awesome. I’m trying not to but it’s hard.

The Exchange is a brilliant program that takes 7 of the best emerging writers, directors and producers the UK has to offer, as well as over 20 of the hottest young actors, to New York to share their wares with the yanks. We got to meet senior staff at all the places we admire and aspire to. Then they do the same a few weeks later. I will be bringing them to The Hospital Club so do come and say hello. You will spot them as they all have very white teeth.

I was lucky enough to work with the following superstars for our New York showcase (at The Vineyard Theatre): Director Oliver Rose , Producer Sara Doctors and actors Lesa Gillespie, Heather Johnson, Patrick Myles and David Mumeni.

The play I wrote was a ten minute piece set in an East London launderette on the day of the Royal Wedding, where people had a lot more to talk about that Kate’s dress. It was funny. If you’d like to see it at a washing machine near you do get in touch.
