Roland Petit , one of the finest ballet choreographers of the 20th century, has passed away.
Petit was a ballet legend. France’s most famous – even notorious – choreographer revolutionised ballet with his work for Hollywood films and for his provocative, poetic theatricality. His works will be long remembered.
To admire some of his work, go to the Coliseum Theatre from 21st-24th July. The English National Ballet is presenting a triple bill including his sexy and adventurous renowned staging of Carmen.
