I’ve had the privilege of working with Fashion photographer Philip Meech for the past three seasons. For a reminder of the incredible lookbooks he’s shot for me click here. I attended the opening night of his brilliant exhibition, currently at The Fashion and Textile Museum, and touring the country throughout 2012. It captures the spirit of backstage photography before the Prada runway shows. Every season, Phil spends the three days before the Prada show capturing the build up, the fittings, the run-throughs and the sets before they culminate in the brilliance that is a Prada runway show. Catch the Catwalk to Cover exhibition before it moves on in February! See more of Phil’s glorious work here

Leading up to my S|S 12 show at The Hospital Club, Elspeth, Riccado, Bianca and I have been collaborating across our own specialist disciplines. (wo)man + machine brings together expertise in innovative knitwear design, graphic design, choreography and music thanks to my fellow CiR’s.
On Monday, Elspeth and I had the opportunity to record sound from Medical Imaging equipment at The London Independent Hospital – Elspeth will then use these recordings in her composition of the musical score for the show.
Included in our recordings were the Doppler Ultrasound, which is typically used for vascular imaging, and also CT and Dexa Scan Machines. We were able to create and capture some incredible electronic and anatomical sounds that perfectly capture my design ethos, ‘Science inspired Design’.
Here are a couple of shots of the action:
Special thanks go to Sa Memon, Superintendent Radiographer, The London Independent Hospital and to Jamie Wagstaff for the pictures.

Casting for dancers continues and London Fashion Week is fast approaching!
The past week has taken Brooke to Italy to develop the S|S 12 collection, and with each little preview she sends us it get more exciting: think sparkle, nylon filaments with fine lurex coatings and plenty of summer shades. Add to this some innovative brain maps courtesy of the Allen Institute of Brain Science and S|S 12 promises to be the epitome of ‘Science inspired Design’
Back here in London we are busy getting ready for London Fashion Week, where Brooke is planning not only her show with Riccardo Buscarini and other CiRs at The Hospital Club, but also a soon to be revealed presentation at Somerset House. Click here to read a little more about her innovative label and await the next instalment of wo(man) and the machine.

Riccardo and I had our first casting in The Hospital Club Gallery for the show in September – a mega CiR collaboration to present my collection during London Fashion Week. Stay tuned for more about our cross-arts collaboration with other CiR award winners. In the meantime, enjoy these pic’s of our gorgeous dancers, courtesy of Documentary Fashion Photographer Emma Gibney . All our dancers are unique artists in their own right, with their very own style and presence. The casting was a fabulous event in itself. I can’t wait to see the dancers move and live in the Spring Summer 12 collection. I’m full of excitement for it!

I snapped Sabrina’s poetry in the loo after seeing her perform at The Club. She’s electric. CiR are smashing it this year. We’ve got BIG plans for London Fashion Week in September, too. Keep an eye right here…

I spent this afternoon at the British Library with Emi researching Science Fiction novels, films and objects. The exhibition is a wonderful reminder of the creativity and imagination borne from science. It runs until September. I’ll be back.

Karl Lagerfeld claimed he was inspired by ‘Rita Hayworth and Aly Khan’. Anyone else, Karl?
