Born in Leeds, Gerard Roberts grew up surrounded by the soundsystems and carnivals of the area and soon began taking an interest in DJ culture. A keen musician from an early age, his progression into music production was a natural one spurred on by an obsessive interest in hip-hop and the possibilities of sampling technology. As DJ/Producer kidkanevil he first came to prominence with the release of his critically acclaimed debut album ‘Problems & Solutions’ back in 2007, and has since gone from strength to strength. Blurring the lines between hip-hop, future beats, jazz, jungle, dubstep and worldwide sounds, kidk’s DJ/Live sets are a force to be reckoned with.
