Description

We’re giving you the chance to take a show to Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2012, with two funding prizes of £10,000 for brand-new productions. The winners will also receive mentoring from experienced theatre practitioners.

As always, we’re looking for innovative, creative ideas – anything from mime to opera. We want to see ambitious projects with more than three people on stage. For inspiration, read about how the award helped 2011’s winners, RashDash Theatre – who this year won their second Fringe First award – and the critically acclaimed Bridge Theatre Company.

Here’s the boring bit. You MUST download and read the Terms & Conditions in full before you apply – we get loads of applications that are ineligible simply because people haven’t read the terms.

We will not consider late applications under any circumstances, including technical difficulties, so allow yourself plenty of time to get your application uploaded.

If you would like some advice about your application, on Wednesday 9 November we are providing nine members with one-to-one Spa Fund Therapy sessions, hosted by IdeasTap’s Laura McFarlane. Places will be booked on a first-come, first-served basis, so keep an eye on the Spa page and group to be first in line.

Please note: to apply, you must be aged 16-25 on the closing date and live in the UK.

If you are having technical difficulties please email info@ideastap.com.

To find out how to apply, click on the How to respond tab at the top of the page.

This brief closes on Wednesday 9 December 2011 at 5pm.

The Tristan Bates Theatre is looking for creative artists to work alongside the Tristan Bates Theatre and the Museum of Broken Relationships. We welcome submissions from any artform. Successful applicants will work with the community in the Seven Dials area, and create a response to one of the museum’s UK donations.

Do you own an object that won’t let you forget? Do you need to make room in your heart (and flat) for a new romance? The Museum of Broken Relationships, which will be hosted in Seven Dials, Covent Garden is seeking donations from the residents in the Covent Garden area. This is a chance to become part of ‘global emotional history’ and have your personal artefact included in an award-winning exhibition.

The Tristan Bates Theatre and Museum of Broken Relationships will present an exhibition from the permanent collection of the Museum of Broken Relationships (MBR) which won the Kenneth Hudson Award for the most daring, innovative European museum project 2011. The exhibition will feature detritus from failed relationships – from the common, shared relics of love (a wedding dress, an “I Love You” teddy bear) to the unique and bizarre (a crumbling garden gnome, a cast from a broken leg) – donated to the museum by people from around the world. Objects from the permanent collection will be on view alongside artefacts and ephemera offered by those living and working in the Covent Garden area looking to exhibit their own love legacy. The exhibition will be housed across two sites in Seven Dials including the Tristan Bates Theatre from August 15th- September 4th 2011.

To apply please submit:
An up-to-date CV
Examples of your work (web links are acceptable).
400 word (max) description of an object that has inspired you and how you might create a response to it.

Further Information:
The selected artists will be announced in June 2011.
The UK Donations will be collected during June and successful artists will be able to choose their commission object from July 11th.
All commissioned work will be exhibited/ performed between August 15th and September 4th 2011.
